Participation

We are seeking hospitals with an interest in this research collaboration in order to better understand infectious disease outcomes, both at an institution-specific and a national level.

All data will be de-identified and HIPAA-compliant, and transferred directly to a secure project database managed by an independent vendor.

Hands-on collaboration by the project team with the hospital's IT/IS department will result in minimal effort to participate in the project. Working with the project team, participating hospitals will manage the transfer of de-identified data directly into a secure third-party database. The ability to access/transfer electronic data (including demographics, lab, and pharmacy data) is needed in order to participate. The project sponsor will not have direct access to the study database.

iDOP is a free resource to participating hospitals.

Benefits

Various detailed standard reports, including aggregate and summation tables, containing data on infectious disease outcomes will be available to participating hospitals. Reports may include prevalence of drug-resistant versus susceptible patients for selected antibiotics; distribution of MICs and patient outcomes including LOS, percent mortality, and total hospital costs, for selected antibiotics and common pathogens; hospital LOS by infection type and MIC. These data will be generated for both the participating institution and the aggregate group of pilot hospitals, thereby providing hospital-specific data as well as data that can be used for benchmarking purposes.

Getting Started

Interested hospitals can fill out our Preliminary Questionnaire to get started!

We also have a detailed Information Technology FAQ to answer questions you or your IT group may have.
